NEWS AND INFORMATION FOR SUNDAY, September 18, 2016
FLOWERS ON THE ALTAR THIS MORNING are in honor of Carol Harper and Lisa Harper’s birthdays! May God continue to bless them with many more!
TREK 4 TECH! Our trek is next Friday, 9/23!! We are getting excited and are really hoping to hit our goal of $100 per student! That would allow us the funds needed for another complete mobile computer lab, the purchase of several more IPads and a “cushion” for the year if we have a technology emergency- such as this summer when we had to replace one of the Smart boards. Perhaps you can help with the trek or donate some supplies? Do you like to walk outside? You can join in the trek! We have a table set up in the narthex with information. Please prayerfully consider how you can best support this effort. Thank you!
IN THE VOTER’S MEETING IN JUNE CONCERNING THE NEW BUDGET, the congregation approved funding for an expanded pre-school. We want to update members on our expanded pre-school efforts and how church leadership is adjusting based on enrollment. We currently have 19 morning preschoolers enrolled with a number considering full-time, but none currently utilizing full time. Due to the enrollment numbers we have adjusted the budget to reflect a reduction in Mrs. Kohtz’s hours. We have also expanded Mrs. Schwecke’s Preschool Directors role to allow her an opportunity to market both our school and preschool in our community. She is also informing the community of other ministries available at St. Michael (i.e. Swaddling Clothes) and is working hard to build future enrollment through community connections. Our attempt is to utilize her preschool director role to build an awareness of our congregation in the community and hopefully have a positive impact on future enrollment. Given Mrs. Schwecke’s expanded role she will remain full time for the school year. Please keep Mrs. Schwecke in your prayers and we encourage all of us to remember our school and preschool when discussing education options with family and friends. If you have questions please contact Bruce Braun, Jim Nicolai, Jason Humes, Pastor or Diane Hegenauer for more information.
